If the cloudy eye is caused by a bloom of bacteria, then a UV, set at proper intensity and run at proper flow rate, will eliminate most of the bacteria in the water.
But if you have a continual source of bacteria and need the UV for this, you might consider eliminating the source of the bacteria rather than working on how to keep the source 'fixed.'
