thats safe for coral and reefs thanks..

i only have 2 clowns in it

i was thinking blue tang or yellow tang
seem some cool looking fishes also..but dont know the name

I've had a regal tang eat leathers and zoas but tank size and maturity rather than reef suitability are more important factors when deciding on livestock.

I have a 46 and had a Oscellaris Clown and a bi-color Blenny and just added and together a Carpenter Wrasse and a Small Flame Hawkfish. Great Fish!!!

20gal long..tanks all good to go now..
i actually buy my water from a buddys shop ready to do..
cant wait that long for those cycles..LOL

What the other adam said. Also, buying water from another tank won't cycle your tank. You need to do some basic research on the nitrogen cycle, what fish you want, and what they need. Otherwise, your stay in this hobby will be very short and unhappy.

**edit** Ok, that was a little preachy. Sorry about that. There are lots of interesting small fish that are suitable to your tank. Gobies, small blennies, some cardinals. What kind of clowns do you have? Some of them can get aggressive and make it difficult to add anything to your tank.

yeah ive got some also..but the water i buy had been cycled already..
its just to start..sooner or later i will do it myself..playing it a lil safe as of now..
thanks tho

Ok, I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but water doesn't cycle. The bacteria that process ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates cling to surfaces. That's why sponges, or porous live rock are the best things to grow a colony of the right kind of bacteria. There may be some in the water, but not enough to cycle a tank.

Back on track though, what kind of fish do you like other than tangs? Are you looking for color, activity, pairing behavior, or what? 20 gallons isn't a lot to work with, but you do have some choices.

See if you can get some filter material from a tank that's cycled. I see you already have a fish. The best fish to pick from besides the clowns you have are blennies, and gobies. I have a 90 gallon tank and am very happy with blennies and gobies and shrimp and crabs. Don't get any more fish for a couple weeks, but adding some hermit crabs, either redlegs or scarletts would be my recommendation. You can feed them pellets or wafers, well really they'll eat anything.

Your stumbling through this cycle process but hopefully you can be patient enough not to get too hurt. Are you checking for ammonia and nitrates?

Tangs get too big, and are disease prone.
Angels will pick at corals.
Triggers will eat your shrimp and crabs.
pseudochromis and damsels are devils, especially in a small tank. Avoid the temptation to put a blue damsel in your tank.
Mandarins, won't work in a small tank.

There are plenty of great fish to pick from out of the blennies and gobies. Good color, great personality, and generally happy in home aquariums.

What kind of filtration do you have? Are you using live rock? How about your lighting? Will it be intense enough for corals, without heating the tank too much?

To get the basics, a really good book (not reef focused, though) is New Marine Aquarium by Mike Paletta. Very good investment. You will save yourself a lot of money and hassle if you get and read this book NOW, before adding any more livestock.

Good luck, and please research! Here, wetwebmedia.com, books of the basics. And don't overstock. Depending on the species of clowns you have, you may be close to maxed out for fish.

Just so there's no misunderstanding, none of the dwarf angels are appropriate for this size tank whether they eat corals or not :)

For sure, triggers are out of the question too. I think most would agree that picking out of the blenny and goby groups is the best start.
