Not sure if they do residential work, but at my company I use a company called Michael James Industries, located in Hauppauge. Their number is 631-231-3434. Ask for Betthany and tell her that you got their name from Gary at Monitor Controls.

Do it yourself, a whole house fan is an easy install. I've done one before. It's not much more difficult than a ceiling fan.

Come on ova beer & burgers on me

Spoke to an electrician today and he said it a Cape with the back dormered and only a knee wall in front an attic fan won’t work on my house
hum any thoughts?
He also said a HVAC guy wont do fans

if you ever need an air conditioning guy i might be able to help, if you want a fan an electrician is your best bet. you can remove humidity through central air, or any air conditioner.

I don't see why an attic fan won't work. If you have vents in the soffit, all you need is a big exhaust fan in the ceiling and when you open all the windows and turn the fan on it blows air into the attic from the house and draws fresh air into the house through the windows. Have one in my house, usually turn it on in the evening when the temp outside starts to drop and it works great. and no holes cut in the roof, just your ceiling.

I also live in a cape that is not dormered. My attic fan did not do a damn thing!! I had a ridge vent installed last year and it is the best thing I ever did for my house.

Antman is correct ....I was an HVAC guy for 12 yrs and working for an oil company .... I would not have considered an attic fan as part of my job. I put one in my house but i also put in central air and that really cooled down my house..

A whole house fan draws air from your house and pushes it outside via your attic vents. A whole is cut in your ceiling a louvered cover is installed to hide it. A dormered cape should still have attic space unless it has vaulted ceilings.
