for mixing and using it... someone in my polyp extension thread mentioned adding it to my top off water to help maintain PH... is this true and has anyone had any experience with this? or any other opinions or experiences with this manner or other ways of using it...

I mix kalk daily. my reef evaps approx 5 gals/day. i use 2 5 gal buckets when one is dripping the other is mixed and and waiting. I use 10 level teaspoons/5 gals water and add 70 ml white vinegar to the water/kalk mix and drop a small powerhead in there for an hour or so. then i remove it and let it settle overnight, when the other bucket is empty i just swap it out. then take the empty and start over. since i have been doing this i haven't had to supplement ca or buffer.

I have a 20 gallon container behind my tank with saturated kalk that lasts about a month. Keeps my Ph between 8.0 and 8.2, I don't dose any other calcium supplements at the moment.
