If u have a heavily algae infested tank then that's the case. They don't call these guys "lawnmower" blennies for no reason. Overfeeding an algae based food could inevitably lead to this also. I purchased a fairly skinny lawnmower blenny n now he's tripled in size fairly quick. He's got a big plump belly too!!

I dont have a heavily algae infested tank ,I have lots of bubble algae though, I put a picture on here a while ago to find out what sort of blennie this was because I got it as a hitchiker in some live rock and was told he was a freckle face blennie , He doesnt look like a lawnmower blennie

sorry I posted the same pic twice

maybe he's eating the valonia whole, lol! He's definately not a lawnmower, but, appears closely related. Never seen one quite like him. I think you got a lucky stow-a-way there! He's very cute!

I dunno, that looks pretty distended for something to "not worry about". How long has he been like this? Does he eat/act normally?

He's been like this for about 5 days now,I did scrape the back wall of tank 5 days ago to get rid of the coraline would this have anything to do with it? He doesnt seem to eat the valonia at all so I dont think its this ,also he is swimming same as usual and still comes out for food :hmm2:
