Can chemipure elite bags opened?

Howdy,

So i have a 3 gallon jbj nano been set up since march of this year. I have just started to use chemipure elite and I am wondering if I can open the bag our of the tub and use a smaller amount than the bag contains? I have seen a few members using on nano-reef.com in the refugium. I have a moded aquaclear 70 refugium and I put filter floss and the chemipure along with chaeto. I am using the whole bag of chemi pure elite smallest size. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes you can but be careful because it can be messy. You would need 200 micron media bag though because the mixed resin beads are tiny. If you use rowaphos, the media bag that comes with the containers works perfectly.

ahhh that is good to know. I have not used rowaphos but I am sure I can get a 200 micron bag somewhere. I am wondering also if there are any negative effects of putting the entire bag in a tank my size. Thank you bababooy.
