Can corals be healthy without moonlight?

I've been keeping octopuses for a few years now, and absolutely love the hobby.

I have almost no experience with corals, and am ready to get into corals now.

Most octopuses I have kept have been nocturnal, so I couldn't have moonlights on if I had a nocturnal octopus in the tank at the time.

As such, I am thinking of getting a reefbreeders LED with the moonlights replaced with red leds, which will allow me to see the octopus without disturbing it.

My question is, will corals be malnourished without moonlight, and with only red light at night?

Just a thought, and I'm not sure if it will be an issue but... If you have red lights on at night won't that promote algae growth? I've seen algae turf scrubbers use red LEDs.
