Can Different Colored Stylophoras Touch?

Hi all, I was wondering if different colored stylophoras could touch each other without any issues? The reason why I'm asking is that I currently have a pink stylo with a purple stylo that's being acclimated on the frag rack. I wanted to save the limited space I have for other corals and would like to place the purple one next to the pink if possible.

I have two color different poccilipora that are growing beside each other with no problem. The coral looks like a brain that is half purple and half green.

The are in the same family as Stylopora, so I would assume that there will be no problems

Interesting, that sounds awesome! I hope this is the case with stylos because I was doing some reading about the same thing but with digitatas and apparently for those it's a different story. Would you happen to have a pic of this "brain"?

I think that no matter what coral it is, it's hit or miss. I've read of some people keeping digitata growing next to each without issues, while, like you, I've also read that they won't. But, with poccilipora and stylophora, I'd guess that your chances for success are better. Just something to think about.

For the record, I have 5 digis on a rock. ORA Green, ORA German blue, ORA Purple, Forest Fire, and a Red polyp/Red base digi. The red/red does not play well with the others and encrusts as it wants sometimes killing the other.

You're right, I have read stories of both. That's why I was hoping to get a more clear answer but I guess it's a chance I'll have to take if I put them together.

Hmmm interesting, so the rest are okay with one another?

Correct. They bump, and sometimes fuse a bit, but won't try to digest each other as the red/red will do.
