can frogspawn breed in aquaria?

i just found a head of frogspawn at the top of my tank growing from a rock, the frogspawn in my tank are very far from where this head is growing and lower in the tank. is it possible for them to send polyps into the water column to live wherever they land in an aquarium?

I have seen large mother colony's that sprouted dozens of individual polyps from the stock! So I would assume that over time these individuals would be released into the water column sort of how plants disperse seed. If such an event happened in your tank you would be very lucky, and should potentially find many more... My other question is are you sure it is not some type of ball/ rock anemone?
