can gill worm infection from freshwater to saltwater?

Hi, I'm planning to reverse a Discus aquarium freshwater into saltwater, the Miss thoughts that it is gill worms in the aquarium, and I have plans to use the pumps from there and the tank that may have infected.

Could this infect over from freshwater to saltwater?

Im uncertain and will be absolutely sure before I begin to move over all living things.
Im think to ask so I am sure that my tangs do not get the same infection
