Cut bits off, rip the colony from its rock and put it somewhere else, pull off pieces of the mat and put them through a paper shredder, they'll recover no matter what abuse you put them through. Not that I recommend abusing them, but they really are that tough. GSP will grow back from tissue left on a rock, or pieces (even very small ones) torn off and superglued to a surface. They're just about the hardiest coral out there; IME fragged colonies barely seem to notice the loss of one or more pieces, they just keep on growing, and have a way of taking over a tank while you're not looking.
