i'm trying to start plumbing my tank this evening and had a question. i have the 90gal aga with the overflow kit that comes with it. the end of the bulkheads are the hosebarb style and i already have the overflow put together and all my pvc ready(so i def. want to use pvc to plumb). this may be a stupid question but i'm not a plumber at all, can i cement the pvc onto the hose barb fitting(seems a little loose whe i slide the coupling over the hose barb) or do i need to go a different way with this.

i used 3/4" flex tubing for the return and 1" flex tubing for the drain. i used hose clamps on both (not super tight), then i just had to find the fittings to screw onto my pump and onto the hose. it was a 3/4" female adapter (dark gray). all the hose barb fittings are dark gray and usually in the same spot (at least at lowes)

hope this helps. if i had to do it again, i would not have used flex tubing (more leaks)!!!
