Can I get just one peppermint shrimp?

I want a peppermint shrimp for aiptasia control. But I just want one...I've heard they need to be kept in with other peppermint shrimps. Is that true?

You can get just one. They do tend to stick together. you have more chance of one eating aiptasia if you have more than one.

It will be completely hit or miss if the one you get eats them... I have always had good luck with them when putting like 4 or 5 in at the same time. They will spawn and feed the tank as well as be sure to take out the aiptasia. I would not get only one...plus they are cheap.

Ditto. Even then they may decide not to eat it. I use the boil blast method. Boil some RO, water suck it up in a baster and spot blast the little buggers. After your done just suck the bodies up with the baster.

Even if it is an aptasia eating p.shrimp if you have a plague i doubt one of them could take care of the problem, on the other hand they ar neat little creatures to have anyway.
