Can I reuse a sand bed?

I will be moving from a 75 gal with a 3 1/2" sand bed to a 120 48X24X25. Can I use the sand bed from the 75 and add a bag of sand over the top? I didn't think that I should but I thought that I would check first.

I wouldn't recommend it either. I've tried, and even with rinsing, I always seem to end up with unexplained nitrates and corals just not looking as good. Could be coincidence, but I would use new sand and just see the new sand with a couple of cups of the old sand. Better safe than sorry.

I'd only use the top inch of the old sand. Using all the sand from an established sandbed will release on ton of inorganic material and will be a big pain.

I have had Nitrate troubles in the past. I replace all my sand and they went to zero in about 1 1/2 weeks. Nothing else was changed. This sold me, I would never keep old sand after seeing this.
If you have a DSB, You definity don't want to use it.

I was just looking at a 120 today and I think I might go bare bottom. I'm thinking about moving out all my softies and going all sps.
