can i use crazy glue to attach ecoxotic led strips to my existing t5 fixtures..basically just glue them underneath..how bad of an idea is this?

i'm not positive, but I don't think crazy glue is a good idea with led's, something in the glue causes the lens to cloud up.

The glue wouldnt come in contact with the bulbs, just the back of the strip. I guess my main concern is combustion

I know it won't come in contact with the bulb, the others that have this problem were using it on the back of their led's and it would cause it. it has a sort of vapor that causes the cloudyness to the lens

I would opt for heavy duty velcro instead of gluing it down. This way you could easily romove them in the future if you needed to or if you needed to move them they would be easily moved. This is how I did mine as well when I had a few.

do you, or your wife/girlfriend/daughter have any pony tail holder elastic things? Most are fabric/plastic coated now a days, and no longer have the little metal clasp thing. Depending on how wide the fixture, they are "low profile" and hold well, also allowing you to adjust position if you choose. Basically, its a black rubber band.

I kind of like the velcro idea, i might check that out, first i need to see how warm these things get, and how the adhesive holds up to the heat. but so far velcro is the front runner

Actually I just discovered the Tunze 8810...which is looking like my best option...and pretty [profanity] sweet

3M industrial grade double sided tape works. My stunners have held on for two years. Home Depot has it. I worded for a corporation that hung office signage with it to negate putting so many holes in the walls due to personnel and sign changes due to layoffs. Never saw a sign fall.
