Can Ich live w/ no fish in the tank?

Must leave it fallow with absolutely NO new additions of any kind for at least 4-6 weeks minimum.

Ich need fish to perpetuate their life cycle. The amt. of time you must leave your tank fallow is subject to debate. The tomont (reproductive) stage of ich usually hatch within a week but are also know to take a month to hatch. Many would advise you to leave your tank fallow for 5 weeks or longer.

In addition, ich can be carried into your tank on anything that is wet including: live rock, sand, inverts and corals but the ich only feeds off of the fish.
