Can it be done?

Im thinking about re-plumbing my sump/return to my tank with my baracuda pump.
I would like to know if i have my current sump drilled (glass) can i split the 1 1/2 inch hole for my skimmer and main return?

The 2 pumps involved are a baracuda for main return on a wavysea plus and a iwaki 70 pump for my skimmer

I would never split the feed side of a pump. Your pumps will basically be fighting each other for draw. Even if the 1-1/2" ipe can handle the flow of both, one will ultimately outdraw the other and starve it. Plus, I see the potential for some significant cavitation.

Another option would be to upgrade the return pump altogether and feed the skimmer off of a manifold from the main return.

If its a beckett skimmer, this is probably not an option as you'll never get it tuned right. If that's the case, you may want to consider drilling another hole or use a submersible feed pump.

not 100% sure the exact method you are planning, but you can go to the return pump first, then split off the return to feed the skimmer pump, but you shouldn't have them both drawing from the same pipe directly.

ok thats what i thought as well i think ill just go ahead and get the sump drilled again for the return pump. Thanks guys!
