can my camera do micros

i have a power shot a520 if i try to zoom in it just makes things look fuzzy


by the way i am new to photography and this is my first digital camera so dont laugh

I found information particular about your camera in one article. It says:


"You can get as close as 5 cm at wide-angle or 30 cm at telephoto while in macro mode..."


It sounds like you are getting too close to your subject.

do you know what setting i need to use. so far the best mode ive found is tv mode what tv stands for i have no clue

As rsteagall said, I believe the 'macro' setting has its limits. My Powershot A70 definitely does have a limit of focus in macro mode.

There should be a button on the camera that looks like a flower icon. That is the macro mode.
