Hello RC!
So, yes, I have GHA. I don't really mind it. I kind of like a dirty tank. The more stuff growing in there, the better IMO, but.....yeah, it's getting to be a bit much. But I have been doing tanks for a long time and I have survived much by simply giving it time and not panicking. I am looking into a reactor, and have read much about what is the cause and cure. RC is the best information out there.
BUT! I had a question. I just upgraded my light from a Marineland Reef Capable LED to Reefbreeders Photon 24". When I first set the light up, I had the channels set to Blue: 70 and White/Red/Blue:100. I swear the GHA was starting to thin out. Like hair loss on an old dude. Now I didn't like those settings, just for the look of it, so I backed it off to B: 40 and W: 70. Now the GHA is looking thick again! (SOB!)
Can my light burn out GHA? Is that even possible? Should I ramp it back up? If it's burning out GHA, what is it doing to the rest of the tank?
