I have a mixed reef. The tank is lit with dual 150w 20k HQI bulbs. The tank is a 46 gallon bowfront. I have everything from sps, to lps to zoos in the tank. Up till about a week ago everything was going great. Digi's were all polyp extended and what not. But I noticed that two of my green digi's and an orange on is not opening its polyps anymore? My other purple and german digi is going great. Open and looks happy? Nothing in the tank changed?Does this happen from time to time? What could be the cause of this? My calcium is ok and my ph and alk is right on? I changed nothing in the tank that might have caused this. The skeleton is still green, but like I stated, the polyps are NOT extending out like they were? This ever happen to anyone else???

Thanks

i've had a few digis for a while and the only time that ever happens to mine is when a hermit crab crawls on them.Or when there is too much water flow on them.hth.

Look for predators and specially parasites (Nudis, flat worms and such) some are extremely difficult to see so try a magnifying lens.

Too much flow was a problem for me on one side of the tank which caused my yellow digit to stay closed.

See, now I thought most sps likes high flow? But then, nothing changed in my tank..... Thanks for the help!

They do like strong flow but not direct flow. Make sure that the polyps are not always forced to one side only, but to create a sway pattern by random currents. Controllers are good for this.

I have 36 times flow but I'm using several powerheads on controllers.

Good luck
