can streams cause waves as good as wave box

can streams create a wave effect as good as a wavebox?

what is preferred these days?

I just received my Tunzes 6105s and I had them setup opposite each other using the wave controller function on the 7096 controller. I was able to get a pretty good wave going but it didn't seem like it was as effective as a "wave box" wave. You could see the way at the top but I didn't see that back and forth sway intensity in the middle of the aquarium.

My tank is a 180 gallon, 6fter.
