Can this Devil be saved?

I received a shipment yesterday via priority mail that took 4 days to get here. It was 2 devils hands attached to a shell, it didn't look so good when I put it into my tank but this morning it looks like this....

The stalks didn't look torn yesterday and they weren't as droopy, this morning it looks as if something is eating the stalks or they are tearing. Can this be saved? What do I do? This is my first experience with a leather and I know everyone says they are tough so please help me pull at least 1 of these through this.

The frag in the foreground, appears to at least have some partial polyp extension.I would give them a bit more time,to see if they pull through. If the tissue keeps sloughing, then you may be able to save the frag by cutting the head from above the dead tissue.HTH & good luck.

Agree. If the necrosis/dead spot increases, you may have to remove the head from the stalk as a last chance to save the mushroom. I don't have much experience, so it's just my opinion.

I had a devils hand that was ripped in half. Now, I have two devils hands. I was lucky that neither got infected. Got a prop tank to isolate and care for the mushrooms?
