Can UV be used to remove Chloroquine

Since Chloroquine is light sensitive, can I use a UV light to remove it after medication without the need of running activated carbon? My tank is 1000Gl so you can imagine the cost and trouble to do complete water change.

Let's say I use a 36W running 100GL/hr to remove it. Should it be enough to break down the medication in theory?

UV changes the chemical make up of chloroquine Phosphate, it doesn't remove it. Have no idea if the changed substance could cause and issue or not. But I think I read somewhere it can turn the water brown. But don't hold me to that. Get an over the back filter and put some bags of activated carbon in that and give it a couple weeks.
