Can you help me identify the contents of Part 2??

I sent an email to Richard and he suggested I try posting to the forum for identification.

I'm so new to the hobby I'm a little overwhelmed by the amount of critters in Part 2. I've identified most of the "legged" critters, but need help with the soft stuff.

I'd really appreciate any help you can provide. I've posted pics of my aquarium on Flickr, but the ones I need the help are these:

Thanks, this is great. I'm a little worried about the Paddle Fan Sponge. It's looking a little pale today. I'm doing a water change again tonight to lower the Nitrites, I hope it helps!

I agree with what has been stated, for the algae that shadowbear didn't know, I think that one is a form of Halmedia algae, but I may be mistaken

Halimedia has much larger plates. This one almost looks like a branch from a cedar tree.

I Googled Halimedia to see what variations there were, but I didn't see anything similar here:

Correct......it is a plant I cannot find reference too....from the Keys also..kinda looks like halimedia....but not....just recently started collecting them...
also...plant the plants so the rootball is in the sand....

BTW

really nice job you did for a 12 gallon tank!

it's been my experience that they turn lighter and eventually white when they're done for. If it was getting darker it was developing chloroplasts for photosynthesis which is a good sign.(unless there was some sort of algae covering it making it darker)
