One of my Christmas Favias is doing the same thing, and always assumed it was reproduction in action. Do you know the proper or scientific name for this phenomena?
Now that I think about it, Frogspawn do this too, and that's a fact. Got one right now. If there is no recognized scientific name, I propose "Baby Goober. "
it would be cool if that in fact was by coincidence the actual scientific name. there was an adult "goober" on the andy griffith show - he worked at the gas pumping station.
It did, slowly but surely. It had somewhat of a hard skeleton when it fell off and it grew from there. Wish i had pictures of it. Yours too should have some skeleton attached to the fleshy part.
