Candy Cane coral beyond saving?

I inherited a few corals from a fellow reefer when I purchased all of their live rock from a tank they were tearing down. This is the state that I received the coral in and I'm not certain if it can be saved...

Assuming your parameters are within reason, I think it can be saved. I would put it in a place where it's receiving low to moderate lighting & flow and just give it some time. GL.

As long as you can see flesh and they have color they still have some zooxanthellae within them and can be recovered

I've got another week or so until my DT finishes cycling so it'll be just a bit longer until I can get them into some decent lighting. I tried feeding some Roti Feast today and it appears that it accepted it.

wow, that's far from dead. It's expanding/inflated... just put it where it will like and it will begin new growth within a month.

Looks like it's doing good to me, obviously not great but not beyond saving by any stretch.

+1 , as long as your water is in check , They are showing signs of happiness by puffing up. Watch for feeder tenicals when the lights go down or out, And feed those puppies. I have saved worse looking canes then that.

+1 they can be saved, they are by far not the worst ones I have seen

ive literally brought them back from the dead. as long as there is a bit of issue theres a chance. low flow medium light and it will come back. maybe in a cave

They appear to have great expansion. you will have new growth and a full looking coral again in a matter of months.

low to mod light. low to moderate flow...flow on the lower side though.

This is all great to hear. I thought that once you could see the skeleton that they couldn't be saved.

My DT just finished cycling so I added them last week. The 10g tank they were in didn't even have a heater and the were doing well.

Here is how the looked this afternoon. I finally saw the feeder tentacles come out so all great signs of recovery...

Definite save! Try target feeding at nite....reef chili or mysis... Time and good water they'll b fine

That looks like a challenge. I am doing the same thing... started with fleshy dots though, so you have a lot more of a chance than I do
