for some reason all of my candy cane coral has detached from the base. can someone tell me what makes this happen

How long did you have the coral before having troubles? Did you try moving to a different location?

Do you have a photo of the coral? I still say 84 is a bit high, or is that's maximum summertime MH water temp?
