Candy Cane Light

I've got 2 pieces of candy cane since my tank has been ready for corals. They both looked pretty good in the store but in my tank they look a pale pink. They both eat real well, but the color bugs me. I have a 4x54 Tek T5 fixture on my 75g. Should I raise up my lighting a bit, they're only a couple inches off the bottom.

I have a 70g with 2 x 150W MH and some of my candy canes have bleached as well.

I've found that they do better by placing them high in the back of the tank or low near the sides or front corners (the lowest light spots in the tank).

I had 4 different color morphs of candy canes and they all grew like mad nestled right up close to 400w halides. Strange.
