Hello all was wondering if anyone had any input to why my candy cane is losing tissue from the base up?

They probably have a bacterial infection and need iodine dip. But what are your parameters, how often do you feed them, what lighting and flow where they are?

Also how long has your tank been setup and how long have you had them?

Here is the link for how to iodine dip and you can get iodine at any pharmacy.

Thanks, tank has been running just short of a year, the candy canes are about 6 months old and have started out as two polyps, now 8... Parameters are 1.025, 9.3dkh,420 cal,1280 mag, ph 8.1, 77f... I dose two part manually to maintain numbers.. All other corals are doing good.. This one just started receding...

BY the way, the pic was taken lights out... Once lights are on the polyps appear perfectly normal.. The feeder tentacles at night also appear to be normal.. I have no indication of potential pests..

Try bumping up your magnesium, I have a couple of corals that do the same thing when it's on the lower side so now I keep it at arounds 1400 with no issues.
