candy coated coraline???

Hey all,

Looked through past posts, did not find my answer, hope it is not a recent repeat.

I have a 75g, with 20g sump tank w/ 100lbs of live rock. the tank has been up and running since Dec.10 and has cycled. I have 20 blue legged hermit crabs, and ten turbo snails running around the tank.

My question is, i have bunch of coraline (green and purple) on a majority of the rocks. It has gone in stages of glazing over with a white candy coating, very thick in some places. This happened when I had 96 watts of light. I have just upgraded to 330w (tek6). I have been cycling the light 3 hours on 4 off and 3 on again, then dark at night. I do run the blue actinic lights all through the daylight times.

Is the coraline bleaching? Dying?

For a little more info. I do supplement with PurpleUp to help get the coraline going in the new tank. And water parameters are fantastic for ph, ak, nitrite and nitrate, and ammonia. My water changes come from r/o water from the local marine store.

Thanks in advance.

When brighter or less bight ligth. Is change from older one. Carol or coraline turn white. But will return back to it color. However not same as it was. It's not dying.
