Canister filter for Phosban!?

I think that it might be too much flow for phosban, I am using a throttle back MJ400 (( which is rated for 106 GPH, I am guessing that I am around 60 )). If the flow is too fast the phosban could grind against itself which would break it up, and release it into the tank.

+1, when I first set up a reactor I used a maxi-jet 900 (as it was the only small pump i had laying around) and within a week the phosban was turning to powder. now i use a canister for carbon and phos ban with a MJ 600. the water just trickles out

can you use a canister filter for phosban and carbon reactor? i have a Rena XP3 that would be a good reactor?

You may want to keep/sell the XP3 and get the smallest one they make, which I am going to assume is the XP2 (up to 20 gallons) Or upgrade the pump to a controllable pump like Todd has, and just turn it down, like he did.

Like Todd mentioned, you want very little flow.

You want to throttle back a 350 gph filter that new cost $200 to 50 gph instead of spending $30 on a reactor?

I'm gonna vote "not the best idea"....
