Canon A640? S3? S5? G7? HELP!

I need a simple but decent point and shoot and all the choices are driving me nuts. I was sold on the Canon A640 from reading the DP review but people on Amazon were complaining about the lack of image stabilization. Is it really that necessary?

I need a camera that will take good shots indoors unlike my Kodak. I'm looking to spend around $350.

If you are taking a lot of indoor shots, then yes, image stabalization is great.

If you are willing to go bigger than the A series, I've seen great pics form both the S3 and G7. I'm sure the S5 should be good as well, but havent seen one personally.
