Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR

I see alot on here people talking about the nikon dslrs... and i realize that these are very good quality, but they can also be quite pricey. I am not trying to spend anything over $800, but there is some leeway.

I am very impressed with the Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR, but does anyone know of or heard of any cons this camera might have to make me want to avoid it? And are there any other cameras that are similar, but have some features the Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR might not?

I have read the reviews, and have seen that it has many, many positive reviews... but before i make such a big purchase, id like to have all of the facts. I saw that they dont shoot well in low light conditions, but i was wondering how low of light that makes the picture quality undesirable.

Basically, i just want to know some reefer's viewpoints and if anyne ere uses it to shoot their tanks... Id like to use it to take some shots of my fish, and was just wondering how well this camera would work. Thanks for everyones help!

First there are more Canon users here than Nikon. That being said, any DSLR will take quality pics. Taking the close-ups of fish and coral is a bit of a different thing though. Normally when taking pics of tanks, we use a macro lens. Not one of the cheep zooms that have a macro switch, a true macro lens. A true macro will have a 1:1 magnifaction. That being said, you may get some pics that aren't bad with the "kit" lenses, it won't be like the true macros.

You can also look for used equipment used. I pick up stuff from B&H dot com on a regular basis. Read the stickys at the top of the forum. Start going out and see how the cameras feel in your hands. Try the switches and dials and see what feels comfortable to you.

I have a T2i and LOVE IT! I researched for about 6 months before I decided on this camera. I am new to photography and DSLRs and this seemed to be the best camera for the price. It has a ton of features and very easy to use. I would definately recommend it.

I curretly shoot the T2i. I am exceptionally happy with it thus far. In a photography class I took last semester we went into the studio, and my t2i shot neck and neck with my buddies 5d mark2. I was worried about it in the begining, but after seeing the results I was very pleased!

T2i here and have loved every day with it. You can get shots in dark conditions, just crank the ISO up. They can get a little grainy if it's too high, but you'll get the shot. You won't be disappointed by the T2i.
