anyone else using rails have any input on their experiences?

I'd love to pick up the RRS rail set, I just haven't gotten around to it yet ($$)

Doug, I know!! That is a noce chunk of change. Anyone you've seen suing the one Ben uses (Velbon)? Some reviews were ess than flattering, but this will more than likely be used infrequently so for $100 if it is functional I'll spring for it. The RRS is like $650 for the double rails I think! Unless I become a macro fanatic I won't be going there !

Hey Ben - those rails, were they jumpy?

"They did the job?".... as is in, "I'm happy with them and don't plan on getting something else" or "they just got me by, drove me nut...if I was gonna do it again I would spend more and do it right the first time?"

As in, it worked fine so I never tried anything else. Sure, after my abuse it was a little bit sticky, but I could still move it to any position. If you were looking for something for video dolly moves it's probably not the best but for stills it does the job and was cheap.
