Canon Powershot SD870

Hey camera pros!!

I have a chance to get one of these in a trade I'm trying to get worked out. mainly I want it for getting better pics of my tank and inhabitants, but I know nothing about cameras. Will the SD870 IS produce quality pictures I can be proud to show off, or is it a glorified disposable wind and shoot crapfest?

Ehhh its so-so. I wouldn't want to shoot artistic reef shots with it. Everything is fully automated. You can't tell the camera what to do, it has a mind of its own. Gonna watch the shuttle tonight? I'm on my way to Cocoa Pier right now.

I've seen the shuttle go up sooo many times before, it kinda gets old.

hmmm, I might go through with the trade and if I dont like the camera or the pics it produces i'll put it on ebay or something. Anything has gotta be better than my fiance's dinosaur of a camera that uses mini cd's and my G1 camera phone.

I have the SD800 IS and I'm pretty happy with it. It's no DSLR, but it's capable of taking reasonably accurate shots of your tanks inhabitants.

Thanks bill, would you mind posting up a pic or 2 from your 800 so I can get an idea of what kinds of pics this camera will produce?

I guess if you got right up close to the shuttle it would be pretty cool, I usually just go to my aunts place on the intercostal river and watch it go up from 70 miles away or so.
