canon s3 IS?

first off sorry if this has already been asked. Im very new to searching for a new camera. I have a 4mp camera but it doesnt have the features i want to take nice macro shots. my question is would the canon s3 IS take some great pics after i figure it out? Some of the pics on this forum are awesome and id like to one be able to take some atleast very nice ones lol without breaking the bank. any thoughts?

Some pics with my Canon S3IS. Not great but pretty good...

Just like everything else in this hobby, it just takes a little reading and a lot of tinkering to figure it out. A $400 camera when I bought it at Christmas (Canadian).

looks pretty good to me but im below noob status on picture taking lol. I been looking at this camera alot and think its a good one but id like some opinions on it first. can u use different lenses with this camera?

The S3 has some great reviews and is supposed to be a very nice mid-high end point and shoot. It has a lot of manual functions, a decent macro mode and built in Image Stabilization. Its not a DSLR and can not match the quality, but can do very well for the price you pay. Just as with anything, you still have to know what you are doing to get the best shots out of it.
