Can't figure out why one colony of zoos are closed

Okay so I have some blowpops.. have had them for going on some months now.. No nudis or spiders that I can tell.. recently fragged a small chunk from them since it was loose in the flow and figured it'd be nice to have an extra colony start to grow.

Some are open but some have stayed shut- is this from the fragging?

Also you know how when they close up depending on the color their tips are kind of white\light.. but theres a tiny recess where a polyp folds into itself? Have you ever seen a closed polyp like this with a white nodule of no particular shape on top? Reminds me of a whitehead zit at the tip of the closed polyp.. can't really get a good pic so far since my tank is bowed.. Will keep trying..

thanks

How long have they been closed? How did you frag? How long were they out of the water? Did you place them back in their original spot before fragging? Did you put them under your daylights after fragging?

Do you have a pic? Sounds like the traits of palys. A pic would be most beneficial though.
