I got my Apex system yesterday, and I think everything is setup just fine except that I am having problems with my email. I first tried using a google account, to which I learned that SSL doesnt work with the Apex unit. So I signed up for a GMX email, and this one also didnt work. So thirdly I signed up for a charter.net email, and this one also doesnt work for me. Here are the settings which I have tried..
GMX Settings
Email enable : enabled
SMTP Server : mail.gmx.com
SMTP port: 587
From: mylogin@gmx.com
To: mylogin@gmail.com
Alt To: address: none
Re-email delay (minutes) :60
Email authentication: Enabled
User name: mydmxlogin
User password : mydmxpassword
What could be wrong? I did read in the booklet that you need to have your gateway and dns servers correctly input into the Apex unit, which I do.
