Cap or no cap?

And if it's no cap what is it? :)

I thought this was a monti cap but read something on another thread about caps not tending to have ridges and bumps so now I'm wondering myself.

Piece that unfortunately broke off when I was moving stuff around, it has colored up greatly (that and the picture was taken with a much better camera)

i would say not a cap, looks like a confusa, as the edges have ridges aligned parellel to each other, but not at the interior of the coral.

No, this is capric... notice how it plates, and that color combo should be a brown/purple base with blue polyps... I have seen monti caps like this...

IF it wasnt a cap I would say Undata.

lots of monti's plate, but caps dont' have the ridges which this one does have.

Hmmm, I looked at some M.confusa pictures and many seem to almost get "branches" of sort.. I was thinking M.undata as well since it reminded me a bit of the Idaho Grape, guess everything that's flat and grows in a plate is refered to as a "cap" nowadays :)

Shawn pretty much got the color combo though, although to me it looks more like purple polyps.. but I can see blue now that you mention it :)
