Captive Bred vs Divers Den: Opinion Question

So- LiveAquaria frequently has Coral Beauty Angelfish on Divers Den. They also currently have Captive Bred ones from Biota. The price is definitely different (Approx $50 DD vs $90 Captive Bred). I've had good experiences with getting solid hardy fish from DD, but like the idea of Captive Bred. Any thoughts over which you'd do?

I think its more a question for you. If you want to pay the premium to support the efforts of breeders advancing the hobby, you pay the bit extra. If that isn't important to you, or the money difference is too much, you don't.

If it were me I'd probably spend the extra 40 bones and get the captive bred one.

It's less likely to have any kind of issues such as parasites or illness, not that I've ever had an issue with a fish from DD but the possibility is always there.

They were born to tank life meaning they are far less likely to nip at and eat corals which makes them a lot more reef safe than their wild caught counterparts. It also means they are acclimated to tank life so they will/should eat most prepared foods.

I would never spend 90 dollars for a coral beauty angel. That is a 29.99-34.99 fish.

Comes down to personal choice as others have said. Personally I like to support captive breeding and have paid over the odds for some fish compared to their wild caught counterparts but I respect the fact that a lot of time and effort goes into breeding these species and am happy to support it.
Angel-wise I currently have 2 flames, a Chinese blueline, majestic and a Biota coral beauty all CB. The Biota coral beauty i've had 2 years and it's colours are far superior to any WC I have seen for a long time here in the UK.
