Captured a Nudi...what now?

Just caught a Nudibranch that had been living in and amongst my GSP. Should I banish him to the sump or flush him down the toilet? Is there any risk in him getting back into the main tank? There's a pre-filter on my return pump but I'm not sure just how clever these little guys are. I'll feel bad flushing him...

Thanks,
Nick

Great answer, by hobbyist who lack knowledge... Got to love this, if you haven't already killed it, which I hope you haven't, what type of nudi is it? can you ID it? You can always make a use for a nudi, depending on what type it is, they do great in fuge's and frag tanks, if you know its not a harmful one. Why kill something if you don't know what it is. Don't listen to everyone on here, a lot of answers are acts of impulse combined with lack of knowledge. Read up and find out which nudi it is? You can even look into donating it to a local fish store or public aquarium. Just a word of advice, be aware of what info is given out on here, don't listen to everyone.

Not too sure on the ID. I'll try and snap a pic, though. Its appearance is similar to the GSP - just minus the green. Looks like he has little polyps extending from his backside.
Haven't done anything with him yet....still sitting in QT.

I had two nudis that were white with white looking polyps on their backs. They were difinitely cool looking. They were eating my briareum, which is similar to GSP. They had to go. I put mine down the garbage disposal. Bye, bye.

I wholeheartedly Disagree with this statement. Anyone with a cursory knowledge of nudibranchs is aware that the survival rate for the vast majority of species in captivity is dismal. Virtually all nudis that come in as hitchhikers are predatory- and usually on a very specific set of prey that can not be substituted. The fact that it is camouflaged to look a lot like Star Polyps, and that you indeed found it IN Star Polyps means that more than likely it is dining on them.

You could banish it to your fuge or sump, as was previously suggested, but that will all but guarantee it will starve to death. You can try to donate it to a store or fellow reefer- but Im not sure why they would want a predatory pest- free or otherwise. I suggest finding a nice big hungry wrasse, trigger, puffer and letting him go the natural way. You could always put it in the freezer- probably a quicker, less painful way to go that being flushed down the freshwater toilet.
