Carbon in Phosban Reactor

What is a good amount of carbon to run in my Phosban Reactor? Do you guys use reactors to run carbon? If not, what do you do?

My display is 75 gallons and I have a 20L sump. 100lbs of LR. Including all the pvc, Skimmer, etc... I am estimating that I have apx 95 gallons of water capacity in my system.

I am using the Two Little Fishies Reactor with a MaxiJet 400. thanks!

I put the amount it stated to use for a 150 gal tank. I just started using the TLF 150 3 days ago so I will wait and see how it works.

The directions didn't say anything about carbon. It had recomendations for GFO... but I didn't seen anything for carbon. Did I miss it?

I think reefcolors meant on the carbon package. I only add loosely to expose as much carbon as possible to the water flowing through it ,if packed tightly the water creates a path that it will follow and not expose all the carbon. Asfar as how long I replace mine monthly as regular maintenance.

^Oh, I already threw those directions away... shucks.

reefcolors... what was the recomendation that was included with the carbon?

I usually fill it about 1/2 full for my 150 gallon tank, with the intention of replacing it every month (not that it happens that frequently).

I got Kent Marine Reef Carbon (pellets) to try. Directions state "to use abour 1/4 lb. or 1 cup per 100 gallons, you may need more or less depending on how dirty the tank is".
Different brands of carbon might state to use more or less but IMO I would fill it pretty much as "crvx" stated. I don't think a little more or less would make much difference.
On the Kent directions it does state to use the carbon for only about 3 days per month because it continues to take trace minerals out of the water even after it becomes clogged, after use to replenish the trace minerals.

Hmmm, interesting about the trace minerals and 3 days a month...

just another idea, fill it 2 3rds full max and use reverse flow, this way the water will be forced through it and not make the carbon become dust.
