Carbon Reactor use in large reef tanks

For all you large tanks that are either reef or mixed reef tanks (not all fish tanks):

Are you using carbon? If so are you using a reactor? How much do you use and how often do you run the reactor?

I run the MR-16 Media Reactor from Avast Marine Works. It holds 30 cups of carbon and I have it packed. I change it out every few months.

I use a jumbo reactor from BRS. The carbon I use is the Rox product. The reactor is mounted to a wall above my work sink. I change carbon every 4 weeks. The reactor is easy to open and clean. Love BRS products they are very well designed.

I bought some Rowa Carbon a while back and they suggest carbon be used no longer than 2 days. They give whole lots of reasons on there website as what happens if you run carbon longer. i have used carbon for many years and normaly change monthly. It make sense running the carbon just 2 days every month and think im going that route I the future.

most of the carbon is "used up" after a couple days however it can last much longer if the organic load is not too heavy, I use a relatively small amount of ROX carbon, about 2 cups in a hose stocking, and change is out monthly just for convenience
