Cardinal fish?

Do Cardinal fish grow very fast? I want to put some in my 9 gallon tank but I want that will stay small or grow very slow.

My Black and White Cardinal grew pretty fast. I would definitely not want him in a 9 gallon tank. Same for my friend's Pajama Cardinal.

Another note is that they tend to be picky eaters, and in a small tank you will most likely pollute your 9 gallons quickly keeping a Cardinal feed.

I have one right now, it is one of three and the only one that survived. Why? The one that survived was the only one that would eat, and its picky still. I have quite a few different types of frozen and dry foods and it will only eat two of the items I currently have.

Thanks for the reply. I really want something that takes a while to mature and stays pretty small. I already have clowns in my bigger tank. I would something different.

I've never had one, but yellow watchman goby comes to mind...even more fun if you can get it to host with a pistol shrimp. Someone else will have to shed their experience on whether or not it would be suitable for a tank that size. I have always avoided them because I think they are too small. If you are into inverts, sexy shrimp make a good addition to small aquariums
