Here is what I am going to have printed for some cards to pass out for the club. Please keep in mind the images you are about to see are very low quality proof photos and the real cards will be very nice glossy card stock. If any of the named people on the card see this as a problem please let me know. I can remove your name or screen name or take all of your info off all together if any of you would rather not be on the card, please let me know. I am open for advice on these if anyone sees anything that could work or look better. I have done a lot or research and looked at a lot of cards for the last couple of weeks and feel like these should work fine. No they were not designed by a professional but I have seen a lot worse that were.

Please keep in mind the purpose of these cards is to get people to our website and from there, here to Reef Central as well as hopefully interested in taking part in STARS and attending some meetings. I want these cards in the LFS's for them to pass out to people. I will also make sure that at least the other people named on the card will have them to pass out and use. Again please keep in mind these are very low quality proof photos of what the cards will look like. Everyone please let me know what you think, lets gets some :thumbsup: or if you think so some :thumbdown

here is a suggestion. could we put the officers on the back of the card with all their numbers. (if they want their numbers on there) that way if it is a financial matter they could call me, planning they could call audrey etc. etc. and john wouldn't have to field all the calls.

the front would look nice with just our logo and the name. the more i look at it, it just looks a little tight in the front. then the name could be in a bigger font.
 
i agree pimp, it does look crowded.

Strayvoltage, i got some pics of some landscapes i took while i was in Hawaii. i can post them on here and you can check them out.
 
Justin I am open to add numbers to the card no prob. I don't think that card will allow me to add that much to the back. There are only three lines to work with on the back of this card. I could drop the web address from the front move all names to the left and add numbers behind them. The font size needs to be at least what it is now to be able to read it when printed. It does look kind of busy i will agree but the card is not about the picture in the back it is about telling people as much info in a given space as we can and have it look as nice as it can while doing it, this of course is JMO. Let me work on it and see what I can do. I have others already made up as well and maybe I will put them up for input. The low quality really takes away from the card as well.

I do have one made up that does not have a picture on it and looks nice or at least I think it does.

botmfedr1, thanks for the pics. I am trying to work with what the site has to offer and make it easier to do this. Not to say that I might not try to use one of them.

Justin or anyone else that wants to comment or add to this, here is one way to make the front not as tight with info. The only problem is with this card it will only allow me to make three lines on the back and that doesn't allow me to put all officers on back. I don't have to use this card there are many different ways to do it but I like the picture on this one. No matter what I do most all of them only have three lines on the back. Please let me know on this. Oh and the font for southwest tank and reef society is as big as it can be and fit the area without making it into two lines.

Ryan tell me the one you think I should use. I don't have a problem with that and these are close to them as they are now. I am using our logo that you made for the club and we all voted on. Of course I wouldn't use anything else! There is one that you sent me that could work with all names on front and doesn't look to tight. I just want to get something printed already and am going to go with something. Later other cards can be made or each officer or club member could even make their own cards if they wanted to. I just want to get some in stores to get the club name out there more and get people to come join us here and at meetings.

Again, keep in mind that what we see here are very low quality proof cards and the real thing looks very nice.
 
I like the idea of the cards and am ok with putting numbers and emails on the back of the officers. I do agree that the card is kind of busy. I like the idea of using our STARS logo and just putting the name of the club and website address on the front. Black logo on white card stock. Maybe having the logo on the left 1/3 of the card and on the other side would be Soutwest Tank and Reef Society in a nice font. and below that in a smaller font would be the web address.
Great idea though and whatever is used will be awesome. I am planning having some stickers made too.
 
i like the functionality of the plain white with our natural colored logo. i think it will serve the purpose just fine.
