Care and feeding a cleaner shrimp

Hey Guys,

Posted this in the invertebrate forum as well, but thought I might get a few more responses here.

I have had a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp for about 8 months now. Since new I have fed him a little frozen food every other day or so by hand. I do see him scavenging over the tank at night though.

I feed the other tank mates Formula 1 pellets daily and frozen or prepaird foods 1-2 times a week.

My question is, I am leaving town for 4 days and will be having a friend feeding and topping up while I'm away. Should I have him feed the shrimp or do you think he will get enough food by scavenging?

In a mature well feed tank he should be fine.I also feed mine a little extra via turkey baster once in awile but its not needed.

mine eats what ever flake or frozen food goes in the take, never spot feed him or the blood red shrimp yet. i say let him scavenge for flakes while your away

you don't have to worry about feeding him for a few days. they can probably live weeks or more without food, depending on what's in the tank.
