Caring for an open brain?

I have a chance get a red open brain from a local reefer. From what I have found they are pretty easy to keep. What about feeding them though? Can they manage on their own or should they be 'target' fed? What do they eat?

Thanks

Hi MikeP471612,
From what I have read they do not need to be target fed, that said I target feed mine (I also have a red open brain). A lot of people will say that feeding them a small fish is good but unless the brain is very large I'd cut it up into small pieces (less than 1/4inch). It takes more energy to eat a large meal versus a small meal. They really like mysis which I feed mine once a week. Also, they will feed during the day but it is best to feed them when they have their tentacles out, which is mainly at night as they are night feeders. I hope this helps.

I've fed mine with the lights on before, it's amazing how fast it transforms into a tenticled feeding monster. :)
