HI all

I previously asked about any experiences with Catalina gobies (Lythrypnus dalli). I didnt get much response then so i had a go myself and ended up with a pair that now spawn.

Some prelimenary observations show very small eggs 1/4 the size of clownfish.

My question is, does anyone have any novel ideas on things that might help rear these fish? im looking for ideas outside the box, not filter setup stuff, more the nitty gritty of breeding fish and novel approaches someoen might jus thave considered but never tried.

Thanks for any thoughts

Christian

Congrats on getting them to spawn, Christian.

Don't have any bright ideas but do have two question for you....how are you keeping them in hot, sunny Queensland? Are you using a chiller and what temp are you keeping them at?

Congrats Christian. Why did'nt you tell me about it? I'm sure the eggs make great food for my larvae. :p Hmm the eggs being 1/4th the size of clownfish eggs does'nt sound easy to me. Just hope ss rotifers are not too big.

Yes marinebetta, he has a chiller. Now it's winter season so it does'nt get so hot. Lucky for him if his chiller fails. :D

They were raised in captivity very early on, so I am sure there are references out there somewhere. I believe TM raises them from time to time as well.
