Hahah just had to catch a damsel and used a method that has worked many times. I place a piece of PVC in the tank and try to coral the fish near it. Eventually it goes into it for safety. Then I put a net on both ends and lift it out with fish inside. Took a coue of tries as the fish escaped, but he kept going back to the PVC so all in all about a 10 min catch.
I agree catching a fish can be very stressful. I recently invested in a fish trap and its fantastic. I secured the trap to the side of my fish tank with a cleaner magnet and baited the trap. I was able to catch my eight line flasher wrasse in less than fifteen minutes. The best part is how stress free it is for the fish being trapped.
