Center brace effect lighting

I ordered a 125 gallon tank on Black Friday. I was told it had two braces and I would but one of three LED lights between each segment. I received the tank tonight and it only has a center brace. I have three LEDs. Can I still use the one over the center brace? Or do I need two stronger lights?

The led over the brace is gonna be pretty much worthless. Your best bet if this is a 6' tank would be to have 2 leds per side depending on the fixtures.

It is a 6 foot tank.

Read this thread. The Chinese LED's you can purchase a 36" 300w full spectrum for about $168 ea or the smaller ones that cover a 24x24 area for $83 ea. In your case I'd get two of the 36" 300w and call it a day> These are amazing for the money and this thread has all the info you need to know in it. When looking for them on Ebay there are many sellers of them so you have several buyers to choose from.

Yeah. I just wish they were controllable without doing mods.

My 6 ft does have two sets of braces so you were going to have to work around them either way.
I agree, two lights on each side of the brace is your best bet.

In that thread I posted there is a link to a place that sells them with the mods you're wanting. It's on page 2 or 3 and the leds in the 36" are like $419 and are setup just how you are wanting them. Just read through that link and you'll find it. Like I said I think it was on pg 2 or 3

I can't find anything about that on that thread. Just people who mod them to work with an apex. I understand there are ones that are wifi. But none that would work with an apex without modification.

I have LED bars (BML) going over a 75 that of course had a center brace. I say 'had' because I cut it out and Euro'd it with 2-3/4x 1/2" tempered braces I picked up for a surprisingly good price - One Day Glass out of Washington. Now my 75 is wide open across the top and has a great little 'rack' for holding up a mesh cover.

Otherwise I too vote for either 2 big fixtures or 4 smaller ones.

Yeah it must have been the wifi one but they are programmable from what I read.

Here is the link for the programmable one. Next time I upgrade I'll get one of these.
